What is Palm up to again? A Palm Foleo? Excellent name that's so original, completely not like the word "folio" or anything else that the other tech companies use.

But let's talk about what this useless piece of crap actually does.

-Email
-Internet
-Documents

A 10" screen device designed for only 3 functions and still costs and ass-whopping $450 is one of the dumbest ideas that this stupid company has ever thought of. Did Palm never hear of something called a laptop? It has been around for about a decade, but Palm always seems REALLY slow to catch onto any new technology. When did Palm get WiFi into it's devices? 2 years after every other company did. Now, 10 years after the laptop was invented, it claims to have invented another category for mobile devices? Sure, call it the garbage bin then.

Knowing Palm, it doesn't include any decent software that you will need on a daily basis. All the good available software for Palm OS's, are currently homebrew (freeware) and Palm doesn't bother to ever help with compatibility issues since it has a team of retarded programmers. Palm will probably end up throwing in a 1Ghz Pentium M processor or worse (at best) and use a flash memory hard drive that can't store any media. On top of that, the device will not have any speakers or video capabilities until more homebrew programs can view multimedia for them. Palm does not know how to make software for the hardware devices that they offer.

The only possibly good thing about this device is its ability to act as a large screen for smartphones. However, the whole purpose of a smartphone is to be small and not large, so having to carry around a 10" screen destroys the whole purpose of sync'ing with a smartphone.

What Palm should do is to change this device into more of a screen device. Take away any features that aren't related to wireless connections of multimedia. Then, you could have your phone, video player, or even computer be able to wirelessly transmit its display onto your Palm Foleo's screen. Now, you can literally take a thin screen around with you and be able to present data on there or view some videos. Throwing in some speakers couldn't hurt either.
